The vision behind our FLARE system was to build the ultimative soaring wing. To combine the depower and stability of a kite with the glide performance and safety of a paraglider.

The MOUSTACHE does offer exactly that great combination and allows you to not only fly from left to right. With our FLARE system you now have access to an additional dimension. You can fly up and down as you want and you can fly when paragliders even with miniwings have to stay on ground because of wind speed.

Speedflying

Speedflying a discipline of paragliding for more action driven pilots. The aim of speedflying is to fly downhill and close to the ground without touching it. The wings used for it are usually quite small and fast to be able to stay close to the ground.

The MOUSTACHE was actually not intended to be a speedflying wing, but the advantage to control your glide ratio so easily while flying with high speed did open a new way of speedflying. It allows you to fly lines which you couldn’t fly before.

As there is not much room for failure or collapses in this discipline, it’s important to understand why thermals can cause big troubles and what active flying means in the world of FLARE.

Speedriding

Speedriding is similar to speedflying as you also fly fast and close to the ground. The main difference is that you are using your skis and that your goal is to switch between skiing and flying as you need or like it. As you start with skis, the wings used tend to be even smaller and faster.

The opportunity to adjust the angle of your wing with your hands only does make the MOUSTACHE with our FLARE system the perfect wing to achieve exactly that.

Things you should think about if you are going for speedriding are line tension, effects of increased load per surface and landing with high speed.

Snowkiting

As we combined the best characteristics from kitesurfing and paragliding, it’s not surprising that you can not only fly a MOUSTACHE.

You can go for a snowkiting sessions as well. Simply use the wing to pull you up the mountain and feel free to decide if you go down by skiing or if you prefer to fly down.

It’s helpful to know how you can easily handle the MOUSTACHE uphill which can be practiced by groundhandling sessions.
